2023 PLL Round 2 Mock Draft

Here are my predictions for the nexts eight picks in the 2023 PLL draft.

#9. Cannons: owen grant (defense/lsm - delaware)

The Cannons need help everywhere on the roster, and Grant is a good start. His takeaway skills and ability to push transition should translate well to the PLL. 

#10. Redwoods: Jack Myers (Attack - Ohio State)

The Redwoods need attack help. They traded Matt Kavanagh in the offseason. Ryan Lee is recovering from a knee injury. Joe Robertson and John Piatelli are not long-term solutions. Projected first-round selection Dordevic will likely play midfield. Insert Myers, a lanky and smooth right-handed attackman that can return to his natural spot at X when Pannell retires.

#11. Atlas: Chris Fake (Defense - Notre Dame)

Fake has had consistency problems while at Yale, but he is still one of the most feared defenders in college lacrosse. He could rise up the draft board with a good final year playing in the ACC with Notre Dame.

#12. Archers: Petey LaSalla (Faceoff - Virginia)

The Archers went 41% from the stripe last year. While they didn’t pull the trigger on faceoff in the first round, they still get a two-time NCAA champion in LaSalla, who is fantastic with the ball after the clamp.

#13. Chrome: Thomas McConvey (Midfield - Virginia)

McConvey is a big lefty that scored 60 goals last year for Vermont and turned heads playing for Canada in the U21 tournament this past summer. He will bolster a Chrome midfield that could use depth, but first he will head to Charlottesville for a graduate year where he is expected to be a main contributor for the Wahoos.

#14. Whipsnakes: James Reilly (Faceoff - Georgetown)

With the injury to Joe Nardella, the Whipsnakes nab the last of the top faceoff prospects in Reilly, a proven commodity that has played in some big games during his tenure as a Hoya.

#15. Chaos: Cam Wyers (Defense - Loyola)

Much like Grant, Wyers is a left-handed Canadian defender that has the ability to play down low or in the middle of the field. A starter since Day 1 at Loyola, he will push for time right away for the Chaos.

#16. Waterdogs: Kyle Long (Midfield - Maryland)

Long’s speed stands out immediately, but more impressive is his ability to always make the right play. He is one of the best passers from the midfield in the nation and feels like a great pairing alongside the likes of Currier, Kelly, Hannah, and Conrad at the midfield.
