Written by Deemer Class | Nov 14, 2025 2:36:27 PM

Best In Class was thrilled to partner with NXT Lacrosse on the 2025 Continental Cup. Since the start of BIC, Coach Class has made appearances at fall tournaments to evaluate up and coming prospects and future BIC attendees. In this exciting collaboration, we were excited to be on site at the Continental Cup as we focused on the Class of 2028. We captured photos and interviews and we are excited to share our evaluations and standouts below. Let's dive in.

Attack

Claire voelzke | greater atlanta christian | freestyle

I liked Voelzke a lot. She's a powerful attacker that thrived on the back door cut to get to the cage. A composed scorer, Voelzke made decisive fakes when finishing in tight.

Virginia Haley | mcdonogh  | M&D

Haley is shifty attacker that attacks downhill well. She has a good feel for the game and consistently makes play after play. Showcasing diversity, Haley can be productive finishing in tight or scoring on the run.

taylor martin | oak knoll | coppermine

Martin was QB1 for Coppermine. She is really good both hands and showcased extreme quickness. Martin attacked with confidence and plays with a high motor. Her question mark goal was well-executed and one of the plays of the day.

addison quinn | kent place | steps

Quinn turned heads on the draw with her stick-skills and size. A midfielder by trade, her move down to lefty attack is proving to be a strong move as she has good hands and is a great presence on the interior.

madelyn farwell | tatnall school | nxt

Earning Continental Cup MVP honors, Farwell facilitated goals and assists in every game, but her signature performance was burying four goals in a row to come back vs CT Grizzlies. She possesses snappy hands not only when shooting, but even when she zips passes up to the top of the 12. She plays with a shiftiness and swagger that had many D1 coaches jotting down notes.

Midfield

eleanor beard | severn | hero's green

Beard demonstrated the more impressive high end speed on the day. She's gritty on the circle and attacks the cage really well off the dodge. She teamed up with Sedona Kaplan to spark a beautiful transition goal to tie the game vs M&D in a game down to the wire. She'll be a talented 2 way midfielder to keep eyes on and was a lone freshman on the IAAM All Conference team last spring.

bryce birkholz | west forsyth | eagle stix

Birkholz was a name that consistently came up in sideline discussions with coaches. She's gritty on the circle and on defense. Very disciplined and playing the game above her years, she can factor into an offense on and off ball and is a strong athlete. Birkholz showed the ability to feed from low on offense and was making 1v1 defensive stops on high dodges. Her versatility to play both sides of the ball will be coveted going into the recruiting summer.

luca diehl | west forsyth | eagle stix

Diehl stands out as an impressive athlete on the field. She gets downhill well and has great range; on one goal, she used a split and rollback, scoring from 7 meters. Diehl no doubt has the athletic frame of a college midfielder.

hunter brown | american heritage | florida select

High level speed is the first thing you notice when you watch Brown. She gets to cage, and was very active in between the lines and made her presence felt. Her 5 goal outing vs FCA was one of the performances of the weekend.

ava picarde | st. mary's | maryland united

Picarde propelled Maryland United to a big win over Hero's with a hat trick, including a deceptive twizzler finish. She just kept making plays down the stretch.

georgia spano | villa maria academy | nxt

I liked Spano at midfield. Steady and consistent, she's a good athlete that made a lot of good lacrosse plays for NXT. I liked how she dodged and she possessed a good stick and decision making on offense.

sedona kaplan | marriotts ridge | hero's green

Kaplan really impressed on the draw. She's a strong athlete and provided a consistent spark for Hero's. She covers well defensively as well, notably in a strong Game 1 matchup vs Eagle Stix.

grace kelly | st. paul's school for girls | m&d black

Kelly had a strong day for M&D. Her versatility as a midfielder is notable; she marked up very well on ball, especially in some notable matchups vs Hero's, and offensively, showed quickness and burst off the dodge with vision to hit cutters. She finished the day with a nice off-handed feed to find a backdoor cutter off the dodge.

lilly lackner | mercy | crush md

Lackner was a true two-way, do-it-all midfielder. She's extremely two-handed and handles the ball well in traffic. She has various release points on shots and feeds and is as dangerous without the ball as she is with it. Defensively, Lackner timed her slides well and had a nice CT earlier in the day, knocking down a pass.

emma buttner | maryvale | m&d black

Buttner is a left-handed midfielder that showed great burst, balance and control on the field. She displayed nice vision and ability to get to the cage. Buttner has a ton of upside.

delaney mccrone | ridgewood | steps

McCrone helps anchor a deep STEPS midfield. She has the power to get to the cage on her own, but also cuts well off-ball. Emma Grom found her on a great flash cut inside vs Jesters. Her presence on the field stands out.

maddie moran | maryvale | hero's green

Coming off a big season with Maryvale, it's no secret Moran has big play potential, but something that can go overlooked often is off-ball play. Her IQ shows in her patience and ability to get open on cuts; she got open three possessions in a row using back doors or slip cuts.

carly obloj | west islip | li jesters

Obloj was a problem in the middle of the field, consistently making some athletic plays. She has great strength and moves well on the field. I liked how she marked up defensively and played with grit.

harper pattillo | wilton | ct grizzlies

Pattillo is a strong lefty that exhibited an ability to get to net and turn the corner downhill. She can get over the the top or finish in tight, including some nifty finishes against Florida Select.

brooklyn toombs | calvary christian academy | florida select

A strong two-way midfielder, Toombs made plays in a variety of ways. On offense, she attacked the net and slipped open off ball on one occasion, and defensively, she applied great pressure. She's one to keep watching.

emerson davis | bishops school | mad dog west

Davis was one of the better athletes I noticed on the day. She changes speeds extremely well and isn't afraid to play physical. A swiss army knife, Davis does it all for Mad Dog and is going to be a great prospect to watch moving forward.

taylor woodcock | st. anne's-belfield | ultimate

Woodcock's size and athleticism stands out. She's a downhill dodger and is tough in the middle of the field. Hailing from North Carolina, she's a midfielder that will be a good one for coaches to keep an eye on.

kate cymbor | westfield | steps

Cymbor made one of the more athletic moves I saw on the day with a bouncy redodge and re-attack. That type of fluid movement and athleticism catches your eye and keeps you wanting to see more. She's another strong piece in a great Steps midfield unit.

Defense

molly davis | mercy | crush md

Davis' footwork around GLE was sharp. She's strong and disciplined and is going to be a great true defender for coaches to continue evaluating this fall on a strong Crush team.

kayla rama | downington west | nxt

Rama has great speed for a defender and shows ability to clear and push transition. She has nice lateral footwork when marking up attackers and finds ways to pressure hands.

nora gormsen | georgetown visitation | capital

Athletic and physical, Gormsen certainly looks the part. I loved her technique on slides to cause disruption, but she also showed discipline to avoid taking unnecessary fouls.

Goalie

susie mcelheny | cambridge | eagle stix

McElheny showed some strong goalie play throughout the day. In what will be a talented 2028 goalie class, she stands out with good hands and how she tracks the ball. I'm eager to see McElheny keep leading a strong Eagle Stix squad.

cambria williams | la costa canyon | mad dog west

Williams is a stout keeper. She makes saves in a variety of ways and will be a keeper to watch in this 2028 class. Despite some losses, she was crucial in keeping Maddog in games and anchors the defensive unit.

lily sargeant | john carroll | crush md

Sargeant's Crush squad had a strong 3-0 day, and she was a big reason why. Impressive between the pipes with timely saves, she's another keeper I'm eager to continue watching.

noa nobis | severn | maryland united

I loved Nobis' presence in cage. Possessing great size and strong hands, she stopped the ball well in a great team win vs Hero's. As Nobis keeps developing, she'll be a legit goalie prospect to monitor.

Other notables

addie talbott | defense | ct grizzlies
mackayla lattaznio | goalie | nxt black
