The Best In Class team was thrilled to put on the 6th summer of our Rising Junior event. Taking place at Chase Fieldhouse in Wilmington, BIC has become a premier destination on the recruiting circuit for individual showcases. Our team gathered evaluations from college coaches, team coaches, and our internal evaluation team to help assess prospects from a college recruiting perspective. In no particular order by position, take a look at who stood out in Year 6.
#127 LANDEN O'NEIL | TABOR ACADEMY | 3D NEW ENGLAND

Few players produced at the level O'Neil did throughout the weekend. The lefty demonstrated an ability to score from every area of the field and could rarely be stopped throughout the event. His seven-goal, one-assist performance in his first game highlighted not only his finishing ability, but his versatility as he scored in a multitude of ways. Beyond the production, he consistently played with his head up, made smart decisions, and showed toughness dodging through contact. His efficiency and complete offensive game made him one of the top performers in the 2028 class.

Strazzini consistently found ways to impact the game, especially without the ball in his stick. A high-IQ, instinctive offensive player, Colton excelled at attacking off-ball gaps, cutting with purpose, and finding open space when opportunities presented themselves. His off-ball movement allowed him to generate quality scoring chances for himself and his teammates. He contributed in transition, played hard in the ride, and made multiple hustle plays that helped swing momentum. His feel for the game and ability to play within the structure of an offense made him one of the more effective all-around players in attendance.

Tyler was one of the most complete offensive players in attendance. He consistently was finding ways to impact the game as both a scorer and playmaker. He showcased an impressive ability to create offense from all areas of the field, highlighted by a four-goal performance in his second game. His change of direction allowed him to consistently create separation, where he would always make the correct decision with the ball in his stick. Tyler's combination of production, vision, and offensive creativity made him one of the premier attackmen at BIC.

McKnight burst onto the scene as one of the most exciting offensive players to watch all week. He plays the game fast at all times, which allowed him to be a threat every time he touched the ball. From dodging to pushing transition, the Texas native found ways to impact the game in every outing and will be one prospect to watch moving into September 1st.

Smooth is the word to describe Ranieri's game. He displayed an excellent understanding of pace, using changes of speed and direction to create separation from defenders and keep them off balance. Throughout the event, Salvatore demonstrated the ability to both feed and finish, including one of the prettiest assists all week on a looping skip pass to lefty Jack Egan.

Though he can also play attack, Powell was at his best when he came out of the box. He used his speed and size to create chances dodging downhill with both hands. He was a goal-scoring machine on day one, scoring seven goals in two games both with and without the ball. Powell is an impressive prospect with his well-rounded offensive game and willingness to make plays in the middle of the field as well.

Iler has the look and feel of a game-changing midfielder. The powerful left-handed midfielder repeatedly got to the middle of the field, where he would hammer home shots on the run with ease. With his combination of size, athleticism, and offensive confidence, Iler is without a doubt one of the best midfielders in the class.

A physically gifted midfielder with the ability to impact the game on both ends of the field, Regan showed flashes of dominance. He demonstrated the ability to score, distribute, and create offense with either hand while also contributing defensively when needed. His size and strength allowed him to win matchups, and he repeatedly showed the skill to make advanced plays in traffic.

Mayfield emerged as one of the most dynamic midfielders at the event. He has a ton of shake to his dodges and routinely created separation when dodging from up top. One NCAA Head Coach called him a freak.Armed with quick release, dangerous hitch move, and strong right hand, Mayfield was one of the toughest covers at the event and excels as an initiator.

A high-IQ midfielder from the MIAA, Enrique turned in an impressive all-around offensive performance. He's a smart dodger that knows how to attack from different angles using great change of direction and footwork, and was particularly proficient at attacking right off the catch. What stood out most was his consistency; he seemed to make the right decision possession after possession and continually found ways to impact the game.

Barad combined physicality, athleticism, and offensive production to put together one of the stronger midfield performances of the weekend. His size and strength allowed him to attack downhill and get to the middle of the field, while his powerful shot made him a threat whenever he gained his hands free. Whether creating offense for himself or contributing through effort plays, he repeatedly found ways to impact possessions.

A tall and rangy defensive midfielder, Gorton immediately catches eyes with his athletic frame, mobility, and aggressive style of play. He is exceptional when guarding on-ball, using his length effectively to move dodgers off their line. He is a tough, physical presence who embraces the dirty work, holding his own through the clearing game and securing contested ground balls.

A mean, tough, and incredibly scrappy defender, Riiber made a massive imprint throughout the event by simply winning the vast majority of his matchups. He pairs great foot speed with a great understanding of off-ball positioning while showcasing high-level communication skills to anchor his side of the field. He is great at jumpstarting the offense with his elite ability in transition. While his stickwork is an area for continued refinement, his relentless edge and raw athletic tools give him an incredibly high ceiling once he gets into a college system with next-level coaching.

A highly intelligent and versatile defender with a high motor. Bernhardt is incredibly efficient off the ground, consistently vacuuming up tough ground balls. On the defensive end, he shows a deep understanding off-ball positioning highlighted by a fantastic stance. He possesses the versatility to project as both an LSM or a close defenseman at the next level, displaying sound slide decisions and a well-rounded IQ. He matches feet on the perimeter very well, and applies a "legally violent" level of pressure on his matchup.

Gauthier immediately stands out for his elite straight-line speed, quickness, and impressive physical strength. He couples that athleticism with exceptional footwork, doing a phenomenal job of maintaining a consistent six-foot gap and he dictates exactly where his matchup can go. He possesses a reliable stick, handling the ball with confidence off the ground and throwing precise, controlled checks that consistently disrupt opposing players. His well-rounded, smart approach to the position gives him a very high ceiling as he projects to the next level.

Every time you looked up, Hemphill was making a play. He's a long and rangey LSM who is a vacuum in the middle of the field and off the wings. His stick is always in passing lanes, and he has a knack for knocking down and picking off passes. Hemphill had some strong contributions on the offensive end as well, including a highlight reel backhanded goal in the last game after securing the ground ball.

The undisputed top defender for his squad, Baruch put together a highly impressive weekend anchored by his fundamental approach and elite on-ball instincts. He reads his matchup’s body language exceptionally well on the perimeter, utilizing precise pokes and lifts to disrupt dodgers. His high-level lacrosse IQ shines brightest off-ball, where he demonstrating impeccable slide decisions and textbook execution when closing out. Offensively, his best sequence happened in game one where he picked off a pass, secured the ground ball, and immediately turned it into a transition goal. Baruch is a defender that is sure to be on a lot of coaches radars.

The Georgia product possesses a relentless motor that ensures he rarely, if ever, gets beat off the dodge. He plays a highly physical brand of defense, choosing to throw his checks with more of a hammer than a scalpel to disrupt opposing ball-handlers. He is at his absolute best when the ball hits the turf, consistently securing multiple slick pickups a game to spark his team. His elite knack for caused turnovers gives him an incredibly intriguing toolkit for the next level.

Zipkin quickly exceeded expectations and emerged as one of the most intriguing faceoff prospects in attendance. Possessing an outstanding frame and a diverse skill set, he proved to be a true Swiss Army knife at the X. He had a wide arsenal of counter moves, but would showcase the ability to win cleanly out the front with an explosive clamp. Zipkins is comfortable with the ball in his stick and has as a high ceiling.

Another faceoff man who had a great showing was Maraglino, who combined an explosive first move with some of the best counters in attendance. What separated him from many of his peers was his ability to create opportunities after the draw, consistently finding outlets and making smart decisions while exiting under pressure. His confidence, technical skill, and all-around game made him one of the standout performers throughout the event.

A towering lefty, Kalafatis uses his size well as he does a phenomenal job taking away the top part of the cage on low angle shots, and covers a lot of net when he moves to make saves. His unique playing style make shooters question their shot selection, which leads to longer releases and more stops on the stat sheet. The Washington product will be a name to watch going forward after an impressive day two outing.

The Texas native had a strong showing at BIC. The lefty showcased quick and efficient movements; one of the most impressive parts about his game was his footwork navigating the cage. Brooker did a fantastic job arriving to his next spot on his arc with balance, allowing him to stare shooters down and make their lives difficult. His best performance was stopping seven shots in a half of play on day one.

Guerra exploded onto the scene this spring after a massive year for McDonogh and continued that into the early part of summer. He's an exceptional athlete both inside of the cage and out as well as a fantastic ball stopper. One of the best parts about Guerra's game is the creativity he plays with. He isn’t afraid to step out on low angle, positionally or stick bait shooters to get them to shoot to spots on mid range & inside shots.

Like Guerra, Benney started in the MIAA this spring for St Paul’s and you could tell his experience helped him as the event went along. A big righty that has elite hand speed and twitch, he was solid day one, but came out on day two and blew up with 17 saves and only two goals allowed in what was maybe the most impressive performance of any position. His size gets in shooters heads and alters shot selection.

The Best In Class 2028s brought edge, energy, and a noticeable step forward in execution. With a year of high school experience under their belts,...
