Men's Best in Class 2030 Standouts

The Class of 2030 is entering high school. Best In Class is a kick off for this group. Learning how to play with pace, space on the field, and hone in on key lacrosse concepts is a focus. This group of standouts shows promise, but we know there is more work to do. Let’s see who stood out in this group of rising stars!

#14 THOMAS DAILEY | NORFOLK ACADEMY | TEAM 91 SOUTH

A powerful left-handed attackman, Dailey imposed his will on defenses with his combination of size, strength, and offensive instincts. He initiated offense by dodging downhill and used his frame to win matchups both on sweeps and running down the alley. Dailey also showed excellent feel off-ball, handling crease feeds with his long reach while demonstrating the versatility to finish with either hand and attack topside. His physical presence and offensive polish make him a difficult matchup

 

#41 LUKE JACKSON | LA COSTA CANYON | MAD DOG

Jackson showcased a complete scoring skillset throughout the event. He consistently threatened defenses with a powerful outside shot, but was also a threat to score off the dodge and is a consistent shooter on-the-run. Jackson also flashed quality vision, delivering a backside skip pass for an assist. He proved to be capable of initiating offense as both a dodger and distributor.

 

#112 HUDSON CHANG | LAWRENCEVILLE | PREDATORS

Chang demonstrated the ability to impact the game from multiple spots on the field. He's comfortable kick-starting the offense from any area of the field with a variety of dodges and showcased the ability to run out of the box. He's a high volume shooter who can really stretch a defense with his outside shot. As a feeder, Chang consistently kept his head up and made smart decisions to generate quality offense.

 

#53 BENNET LUSIN | ST. JOHN'S COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL | NEXT LEVEL

BIC COMBINE SCORES: Flying 20: 2.38 seconds | Broad Jump: 7 ft 5 in | Vertical Jump: 22.15 in

Lusin consistently created offense through his movement, feel for spacing, and high lacrosse IQ. He does an great job of recognizing favorable matchups and attacking them with confidence. He uses subtle hesitations and changes of pace to gain separation on his dodges. Off the ball, he's a constant scoring threat with his movement, cutting into open space or finding soft spots for step-down opportunities. 

 

#62 BECKETT MOLLETT | BRUNSWICK | 2WAY

BIC COMBINE SCORES: Flying 20: 2.39 seconds | Broad Jump: 7 ft 1 in | Vertical Jump: 20.95 in

Mollett showcased a polished offensive game, making an impact with his ability to initiate from behind the cage and create offense through the two-man game. He consistently attacked with purpose, taking smart angles from X that allowed him to get topside and pressure both short-stick and long-pole defenders. Comfortable initiating from both behind and above GLE, he demonstrated the versatility to create offense from multiple spots on the field while posing a consistent threat around the crease.

 

#74 BRIAN SASSE | RYE | PRIME TIME

BIC COMBINE SCORES: Flying 20: 2.47 seconds | Broad Jump: 7 ft 2 in | Vertical Jump: 22.95 in

Sasse made an impact for his team with his ability to carry the ball with pace and create scoring opportunities off the dodge. He consistently attacked with purpose, using his quickness and effective split dodge to gain separation and put pressure on defenders. A dangerous shooter, Sasse displayed both strong velocity and excellent placement, including the ability to finish from underneath. Unselfish and comfortable flowing within the offense, he showed a willingness to come to the ball in the clear and contribute as both a primary ball carrier and a playmaker.

#3 JACK ANDERSON | BRUNSWICK | 2WAY

Anderson made his presence felt all over the field with his combination of athleticism, physicality, and relentless motor. Projecting as a true two-way midfielder, he consistently impacted possessions by winning ground balls, competing between the lines, and finishing plays when opportunities presented themselves. Anderson also flashed soft hands around the crease, proving capable of making timely off-ball cuts offensively.

#52 DAVIS HUGHES | ECKER HILL MIDDLE SCHOOL | UTAH SUMMIT

BIC COMBINE SCORES: Flying 20: 2.21 seconds | Broad Jump: 7 ft 11 in | Vertical Jump: 23.45 in

An exciting blend of speed, athleticism, and two-way ability throughout the week made Hughes a standout. He consistently pushed the pace in transition, covered ground quickly and made plays between the lines while demonstrating a strong motor on both ends of the field. Hughes also displayed quality offensive instincts, creating opportunities with his athleticism and making smart decisions when the ball was in his stick. 


#83 BURCH SUMMERS | TAFT SCHOOL | SWEETLAX

BIC COMBINE SCORES: Flying 20: 2.36 seconds | Broad Jump: 8 ft 2 in | Vertical Jump: 23.65 in

Summers impressed with his high lacrosse IQ and ability to make the players around him better. A natural facilitator, he consistently played within the flow of the offense while showing excellent vision and unselfishness with the ball in his stick. Summers also flashed the ability to create offense for himself, scoring from outside and finding quality opportunities around the goal. His balanced offensive approach and feel for the game made him one of the more polished midfielders in attendance.

 

#135 AUDRIC YUK | ST. IGNATIUS PREP | ADVNC/WEST COAST STARZ

BIC COMBINE SCORES: Flying 20: 2.23 seconds | Broad Jump: 7 ft 10 in | Vertical Jump: 27.85 in

Yuk stood out as a dynamic dodging midfielder who consistently pressured defenses with his quickness and ability to attack from multiple spots on the field. He changed speeds well, attacked downhill with confidence, and showed the ability to finish both on the run and through contact. His shiftiness and feel for creating separation allowed him to generate quality opportunities throughout the weekend, making him a difficult matchup whenever he initiated offense.

 

#130 SAM KUMIN | NOBLE & GREENOUGH | 3D NEW ENGLAND

Kumin showcased a mature, well-rounded offensive game built on patience, athleticism, and smart decision-making. He consistently allowed plays to develop before attacking, demonstrating excellent feel for when to create for himself and when to keep the offense moving. Kumin also displayed quality over-the-run shooting ability while playing within the structure of the offense. His balanced approach and offensive IQ helped him stand out as a dependable playmaker throughout the event. Kumin is a multi time standout and All Star at BIC and his growth continues to show. 

#109 RYAN SCHWEITZER | SHADY SIDE ACADEMY | IRON CITY SAVAGE

Schweitzer created offense with his speed, confidence, and ability to beat defenders off the dodge. He attacked with purpose, using subtle changes of pace and shake to generate separation before getting his hands free as an over-the-run shooter. Beyond his offensive production, Schweitzer showed a coachable approach and competed on both ends of the field, making a positive impact throughout the weekend.

#6 COOPER BAUGHMAN | NOBLE & GREENOUGH | LAXACHUSETTS

Baughman is a dynamic defender that is a legitimate threat in transition. He had a hat-trick in one game and displayed textbook shooting mechanics. As a defender, he combines great stick skills with athleticism and physicality, allowing him to push the ball confidently and create offense after defensive stops and gathering loose balls in the middle of the field. As he continues to make quicker decisions with the ball, he has the tools to become an even more dangerous transition threat.

 

#126 SEAGER LAVELLE | LASSITER | 3D GEORGIA

Lavelle is a high-motor defender who consistently influences the game with his speed and relentless effort. He runs the field exceptionally well, pushes the ball confidently in transition, and uses great stick skills to create plays. Lavelle was equally effective on and off the ball, consistently winning ground balls and making life difficult for opposing dodgers. His combination of athleticism and consistency made him one of the more dependable defenders at the event.

 

#149 FINN MCDONALD | NORFOLK ACADEMY | TEAM 91 VA/TWENTY ONE ELITE

BIC COMBINE SCORES: Flying 20: 2.44 seconds | Broad Jump: 7 ft 10 in | Vertical Jump: 24.75 in

McDonald uses his size, range, and defensive instincts to disrupt opposing offenses. He came up with several caused turnovers, played smart off-ball, and showed the ability to defend comfortably on the perimeter without getting beat. McDonald also competed well off the ground and used his length to impact plays throughout the event. His combination of size and defensive IQ gives him the tools to match up with a wide variety of offensive players.

 

#7 JAMES BEAR | ST. ALBANS SCHOOL | NEXT LEVEL

Bear is an athletic defender whose work rate and physical tools stood out throughout the event. He showed solid footwork, defended well on-ball, and used an active stick to pressure opponents' hands, trying to make them uncomfortable. As he continues to develop his off-hand and off-ball defensive awareness, Bear has the tools to become an even more complete defender.

 

#143 MILLER COOLEY | BRUNSWICK | 2WAY

A rangy defender who uses his size and stick to his advantage, Cooley kept things complicated for the offense. He was strong both on-ball and off-ball, using his athleticism and defensive awareness to get his stick into passing lanes and make plays throughout the event. Cooley also showed good instincts in transition and consistently put himself in the right position defensively. As he continues to make quicker slide decisions and tighten his decision-making in transition, Cooley can elevate an already well-rounded game.

#78 GRAHAM SILVERMAN | BRUNSWICK | 2WAY

Silverman's time at Best in Class was unfortunately cut short by a nagging wrist injury, but he showed more than enough to prove he is a special talent. His technique is highly refined, his hand speed is exceptional, and he had no issues going head-to-head with the top faceoff athletes in his class. As he continues to develop, Silverman has the potential to become one of the top faceoff specialists in the country.

 

#99 NORTH BASS | BOYS' LATIN | NEXT LEVEL

BIC COMBINE SCORES: Flying 20: 2.50 seconds | Broad Jump: 6 ft 11 in | Vertical Jump: 22.05 in

Bass's skill set closely resembles that of North Carolina standout Parker Hofmann. He's fast off the whistle, stays low through the draw, and isn't afraid to play physically, whether battling through clamps or competing for tough ground balls. Bass is also incredibly coachable and constantly looked to refine his technique throughout the event. As he continues to polish his stance and mechanics, he has the potential to become a early September phone call for many Division I programs.

#19 GRAYDON DZIADZIO | DELBARTON | LEADING EDGE

Dziadzio is a polished goalie whose hand speed, reactions, and poise consistently stood out throughout the event. He showed the discipline to make the routine saves while also coming up with impressive saves in key moments. Dziadzio's technical foundation and composure make him one of the more complete goalies at this age.

 

#72 MASON RENNO | LA COSTA CANYON | MAD DOG

BIC COMBINE SCORES: Flying 20: 2.41 seconds | Broad Jump: 7 ft 2 in | Vertical Jump: 24.55 in

A big, athletic goalie, Renno made some big time stops to help his team win some big games. His hands, reaction speed, and ability to track the ball consistently stood out throughout the event as he made several impressive saves in drills and carried that ability into game situations. Renno's size and athleticism make him a difficult goalie to beat and a valuable presence in the cage.
