The Best In Class 2029s competed in what was likely their first "showcase" event. As they begin the fall in preparation for their first spring seasons in high school, we are excited to watch their progress.
Through schedule adjustments, and shortened games, the players competed this summer. Here is a look at who made a splash this summer at Best In Class:
Zach had one of the more impressive performances at the event. He is at his best when initiating from below GLE, displaying the ability to dodge both ways and handle pressure. He does a great job presenting a target when his team is clearing, allowing the offensive middies to sub on. He is a shifty dodger that can beat his man off the first step, stutter, or COD. His ability to score when coming up the hash was put on display multiple times at the event.

Kyle excelled during the event playing below GLE and from the lefty wing. He does a great job in the two man game as a ball carrier, often gaining an advantage for a shot out of it. He does a good job moving within the flow of the offense, and he plays with his head up. He is a confident dodger that makes good decisions with the ball and will continue to get better as his right hand continues to develop.

John is an attackman that uses speed to his advantage. He has a quick first step, which allows him to consistently attack topside. He dodges with his head up, and he has the ability to create both for himself and teammates. In the ride, he combines speed with hustle to make plays and give his team extra possessions.

Briggs is a strong ball carrier that can get to the cage. He has a knack for getting his hands free with well-timed COD and change of pace when dodging. If he's not in a scoring position coming out of a dodge, he is scanning the field looking for an open man. Leary has the ability to get a step on defenders and, as he works on his finishing, he will continue to improve.

CJ is a big, strong, athletic player that can create a shot in both settled and unsettled situations. He uses a combination of physicality and a quick first step to free his hands consistently for quality shots. Cradock can handle the ball through pressure, has a great step down and on the run shot. One standout highlight was a one handed assist out of a rollback in an early offense situation.

Hawken is a tall, athletic player that creates a ton of separation with his speed and change of direction. He dodges with his head up, and when he gets his hands free, he can sling it with either hand. He does a great job playing the two man game from up top, both with and without the ball. His coaches noted that he did a good job covering the ball on the defensive end as well.

Will is a high IQ player; when the ball is in his stick, you can trust him to make the right decision. He often served as the initiator when he was on the field, dodging with confidence and creating separation through a number of different moves. Frame has a good shot on the run and plays well out of the two man game.

Andrew is an athletic player who always dodges hard. His pace and athleticism allow him to get to dangerous areas of the field, where he is capable of dodging the slide. He fights hard for loose balls all over the field and responds well to coaching. Kao moves well within the offense and lets the game come to him. His coaches spoke highly of him at the event.

Aiden is a slick, athletic player with multiple moves in his tool bag. As a dodger, he has a quick first step and is able to draw a slide. He always plays with his head up and makes the right decision passing the ball whether it is the quick throwback or to a cutting player. He understands how to play with and without the ball and leads by example. His coaches made sure to mention that they enjoyed coaching him throughout the event.

Ranger put his athleticism, hustle, and motor on display at this event. While he may project as a SSDM, he can certainly play offense as he played both ways throughout the event. He fights for every loose ball whether it is off the wing, in the ride, or in the middle of the field. He had a highlight reel goal on a step away shot coming from X, and will be a player to keep an eye on going forward.

Carson is a very athletic player with the toolset of a SSDM. He has the athleticism to close the gap on offensive players and get in their hands, showcasing the skill to pull off the crowbar as well as other take away checks. He plays physically when guarding the ball and has good off-ball awareness. Berg is capable in transition, and as his offensive skills get better, he will only become even more dangerous in transition.

Caleb is a very fundamental defender. He has a very sound stance when guarding the bal;, moves his feet well, and his stick is always in the hands of his attacker. He is comfortable playing out on the perimeter and has a great motor. Arata does a great job helping in off-ball and was very coachable. He often matched up against the opposing team's best dodger and battled throughout every game. Whether he was playing close or LSM, he made plenty of plays throughout the event.

Cormac did a great job covering the ball throughout the event. He has a great motor, uses his stick well to get in hands and is physical at the point of contact. He has good stickwork and is good off the ground. Off-ball, his head is on a swivel and he does a great job hedging to the dodge. His coaches noted that he was very receptive to coaching and, as he continues to hone in his footwork and body positioning off-ball, he will only get better.

Cook was the best communicator at the event. His voice on the defensive end provided a steady presence that elevated the play of the team. He is a tall, rangey and athletic player that gets in the gloves of the opposing attacker. He is good off the ground and very active in the clear. He made a highlight reel play securing a tough ground ball, clearing the ball himself, and scoring in transition at the end of a game.

Liam stood out with his presence in the middle of the field. Whether it was in the clear or off the wings, he always seemed to be involved in the play. He is a offensive-minded LSM who is quick to break out after a save. He is good off the ground, securing multiple tough ground balls. As Denney continues to increase his presence in settled defense, he will only make more of an impact for his team.

Benjamin is an athletic, rangey LSM that made an impact all over the field. He is great off the wings and comes up with ground balls all over the field. Once he has the ball, he has the speed to run past just about anyone. He has great stickwork and was often involved in the clear. On the defensive end, he did a great job covering the ball and sliding when he needed to. He will be a player to watch going forward.

The Long Island product plays a style of goaltending that makes him appear bigger than he is. Jack does a great job of playing his angles correctly, allowing himself to take up more of the cage and force shooters to hit tough shots. He does a great job of using his legs to make low saves, especially in tight.

Conrad plays a very efficient style of goaltending which allows him to always be a step ahead of shooters. He does a good job of getting creative to give shooters different looks, especially in the low angles. Hutson does a good job of staying patient, forcing shooters to show their hand.

Riley is a lengthy, athletic goalie from Colorado who does a great job at forcing shooters to hit tough shots. He moves well to save shots at the 5 hole, as well as the low corners. Parker has elite hand speed and explosiveness that makes him an ideal goalie prospect at the next level.

Brian does a good job of not overstepping on shots and taking up space in the cage as he moves to the ball. He gets the ball up and out with quick, accurate outlets in transition, which college coaches will love. Feldmaier consistently makes clean saves, especially to his off-stick side.

Lincoln has good technical skills and great hands. He has elite exit mechanics, redirects the ball quickly, and minimizes his opponents ability to counter him. He is excellent at reading his opponents' counter, and puts the ball in good spaces to secure possession. Rubendall will be a player to keep an eye on as he continues to learn how to handle pressure off the faceoff X, and begins to put on size.

Jackson has a big frame, good hands, and good technical skills. He excelled when winning the ball forward and running the fast break. He has a great foundation, and as he learns to use his size to his advantage, he will become even more dangerous. As he continues to develop his ball security when exiting the face off and off the ground, he will only make a bigger impact for his team.
