Best In Class Standouts: Men's 2029
The Best In Class 2029s competed in what was likely their first "showcase" event. As they begin the fall in preparation for their first spring...
Our Best in Class Committed event is always a fun one. It's great to see how players that attended past events have grown and evolved their games while continuing to add more as they head to the next level.
With morning trainings and afternoon games, the compete level of this players was off the charts, and just as impressive was the curiousness of the players to pick the brains of our coaches and try to add or improve aspects of their game.
We will see many of these players shine in the NCAA ranks, but nine stood out and garnered honors at the end of the weekend:
Overall MVP - Noah Han - Princeton
Attack MVP - Koren Vanterpool - Air Force
Midfield MVP - Bennett Matthews - Duke
Defense MVP - Ethan Bramoff - Maryland
Goalie MVP - Braedon Goloboski - St. John's
Faceoff MVP - Ethan Goldberg - Richmond
Co-Training Award - Ethan Moore - Colgate
Co-Training Award - Scooter Barrett - UPenn
Leadership Award - Nolan Kittle - Hofstra
For the 2026's who only have one more spring season in high school, the commitment to improving their games and competing will be an important trait to maintain throughout college. For the 2027's that just committed, they know that this is the start of the journey, not the finish point, and we hope to see many of them next year.
Breaking down who stood out at Best in Class Committed 2026 at IMG Academy:
Han was productive early and often at Best in Class Committed scoring multiple goals in the first game, the most impressive of which was an on the run righty rip that tagged a corner. He did a nice job of attacking within the flow of the offense, scoring goals from multiple parts of the field. Coaches lauded his intention to learn and grow this weekend, always looking to add elements to his game. Han will be a dynamic chess piece in years to come for a loaded Princeton offense.
Steadily gaining confidence as the event went along, Vanterpool is a cerebral attacker that takes advantage of his opportunities. On the second day, he blew a stepdown high past the keeper early in the game and then followed it up with a gorgeous cross-crease feed to a sneaking Logan Stevens (Cornell).
Stevens consistently finds open space and makes himself available for feeds, racking up a hat-trick in the first game, including a stepdown that ripped the net (actually). In the ride, he dislodged the ball from a clearing midfielder with a perfectly-executed rusty gate check, almost scoring immediately after as well. His game sense and finishing ability should help him find a role within Cornell's offense.
Some players just know how to score goals. Maher is one of them. After bursting onto the scene BIC Committed 2024 as a uncommitted attacker, Maher continued displaying his goal-scoring prowess in 2026, scoring righty, lefty, as well as backhand goals.
DuFour turned heads early in drills with his sound fundamentals and understanding of offensive spacing, which translated to games. In the first game, he threw a gorgeous cross-field skip pass in transition to Colin Hope (Providence) and then followed it up a quarter later with a gritty goal turning the corner from X.
An offensive midfielder by trade, Matthews' athleticism and motor allow him to make plays all over the field, a large reason why he was tabbed Midfield MVP by the coaches. He has a college ready build and shot on the run, beating a PLL pro goalie with a pinpoint shot down the alley. On the defensive end, Matthews was more than capable of playing 1v1 defense, highlighted by a fantastic rep in the second game where he matched feet with a quicker dodger on multiple redodges.
Moore was one of the more impressive passers at the event. Dishing out four assists in the second game, Moore is composed as a dodger, doing a really good job of controlling his speed while keeping his head up to find open teammates, espicially when sweeping to his strong left hand.
Franzen is a strong dodger with a nose for the cage. The versatility of his dodges was particularly impressive. His first goal of the weekend was a slick redodge back underneath to his strong left hand while his second was a gorgeous up the hash goal where he put the ball right over the shoulder of the goalie. There's a lot to like about Franzen's game and he seems to be set to make an early impact at UMass.
Hauck is next in a long line of strong and athletic Army midfielders. Not only did he make a ton of plays between the lines, but offensively, he did a great job of making the simple plays like moving the ball through X after an alley dodge. Hauck's a player that will elevate any team with his ability to impact the game on offense or defense.
One of the breakout players of the event, Rajamani was a one-man clear, using his big frame and athleticism to gallop past riding attackers. In the first game, he went coast to coast after being hounded by multiple players and buried a lefty shot that warranted a roar from his sideline. Rajamani certainly looks the part of a game-breaking two-way midfielder in the NESCAC.
Bramoff showed why he was so touted as an LSM prospect. His talent was evident from the jump, espicially in the middle of the field with timely checks, and he's always a threat in transition offensively. Despite being a top ranked prospect for some time, his willingness to grow, learn and improve upon his game was especially notable and bodes well for his development in the college ranks.

McGlone had an impressive two days at BIC Committed. It seemed every time he was near the ball, he made a positive play. He did everything from picking up tough ground balls in traffic, to picking off passes, to even scoring a goal in transition. Villanova should be excited about the upside of the righty defender out of DC.
An intelligent lefty, Renda did a great job of picking and choosing his moments to be aggressive and opportunistic. One of he best defensive plays of the event was a perfectly-timed double team on an attacker that was rolling back.
Winning the highest percentage of faceoffs at the event (71%), Goldberg came up with key wins time and time again for his team. A great athlete, Goldberg was great scooping up ground balls off the turf and had a crucial goal for his squad, thwarting a comeback by the opposing team that had scored a few goals straight.
